A number of high-level Republican contenders for the 2024 presidential race have made or scheduled upcoming trips to Iowa, a key state for determining who has enough grassroots support to run on the national stage.
These potential candidates included former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton, Florida Sen. Rick Scott, and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott.
Pompeo spoke Friday to Republicans in Des Moines and said he would meet privately with top Iowa GOP officials.
Rick Scott will be in Cedar Rapids next week on April 1, while Tim Scott will be in Quad Cities on April 15. Cotton is also reportedly making plans to travel to the state.
