Calling the remarks "treason, sedition, insurrection," President Trump condemned the leader of Black Lives Matter New York chapter for his threat to "burn down the system" in the United States.

The president's tweet appears to be in reference to Hawk Newsome's recent appearance on "The Story" with host Martha MacCallum on Fox News. During that interview Wednesday, Newsome warned,

"If this country doesn't give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it. All right? And I could be speaking ... figuratively. I could be speaking literally. It's a matter of interpretation."

President Trump's tweet left no confusion over how he interpreted the comments.
