The leader of the Proud Boys said he was among four people who were "jumped" by Black Lives Matter members early Wednesday in Washington, D.C.
Enrique Tarrio told the Gateway Pundit that he was slashed in the stomach while he and others were going home from a Washington, D.C., bar where they were watching the election. Tarrio said that "multiple other members" were also injured, including a man stabbed in the neck and a woman stabbed in the back.
The attack was caught in part by livestreamed video, with victims confirming to the camera that they had been stabbed.
Bevelyn Beatty, a black woman who had previously dumped paint over a Black Lives Matter mural outside Trump Tower, was seen holding her lower back and saying that she was bleeding.
Jen Loh, a former vice president of Latinos For Trump, said that the attackers appeared to target Beatty.
"If it wasn't for the three or four Proud Boys that were there, she would have been stabbed and really brutally beaten had they not saved her from the attack," Loh said.
