A purse lost in the late 1950s has been discovered behind a school locker in Ohio, 62 years after it originally went missing.

A custodian at North Canton Middle School was doing repairs in spring of 2019 when he found a purse wedged between the locker and the wall. The bag was originally lost in 1957. The school was able to locate the family of the bag's owner, who agreed to share information with the public.

The red bag belonged to Patti Rumfola, who graduated in 1960 from what was then called Hoover High School. She has since passed away, at age 71.

The purse contained peppermint-flavored Beech-Nut gum, a signed school photo of a friend named Bonnie, and Hazel Bishop lipstick in the shade "Pastel Pink." She was also a member of the American Junior Red Cross.

The bag also contained a library card that expired in 1960, a YMCA membership, and old ticket stubs.
