The Boston Red Sox announced Monday morning that they fired David Dombrowski, the president of the Red Sox baseball operations. The team has given no official reason for firing Dombrowski, who served in the position since 2015, and said that a search for a new operations president would begin immediately.
Dombrowski was fired after the Red Sox’s loss to the Yankees Sunday night, according to USA Today.
“Dave will hold a special place in franchise history as a key architect of one of the greatest Red Sox teams ever assembled,” said Red Sox Chairman Tom Werner in a press release. “His willingness to make bold moves helped deliver our fourth World Series Championship in the 21st century.”
