A religious watchdog group has gone after Kanye West's "church service" at Harris County jail last weekend, saying it is a violation of the separation of church and state.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation sent a letter of notice to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez demanding assurances that he will not allow a presentation that pushes a particular religion to have a place in the public facility again.

Sherrif Gonzalez tweeted a video from the performance last week using the hashtag #churchservice, which prompted FFRF to emphasize that this was not just a concert, but a religious activity.

West performed his concert for more than 200 male inmates in the facility before going across the street to perform for an audience of female inmates.
