Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) reportedly decided he will no longer wear a mask while in the Capitol complex or on the Senate floor.
"At this point I've been vaccinated. Everybody working in the Senate has been vaccinated," Cruz said. "CDC has said in small groups, particularly with people who were vaccinated don't need to wear masks."
The Senate does not require its members to wear masks, unlike the House, which requires its members and aides to wear masks.
🔦 In March, a reporter asked that Cruz put on a mask before starting a press conference.
"Yeah, when I'm talking to the TV camera, I'm not going to wear a mask," Cruz said. "All of us have been immunized."
The reporter replied, "It'd make us feel better."
Cruz responded, "You're welcome to step away if you'd like."
