A new Easter film is available this week focusing on the events following the resurrection of Jesus Christ into the biblical book of Acts, produced by well-known Hollywood producers Roma Downey and husband Mark Burnett.

The film, called "Resurrection," is a continuation of the couple's "The Bible" miniseries and the standalone film "Son of God," which focused on Jesus's life and ministry. It covers the period of time between Christ's rise from the dead and the beginning of Acts in the biblical account, where the couple's other miniseries titled "A.D. The Bible Continues" picks up.

"The movie opens up at the crucifixion of Jesus and we wanted to tell the story from the point of view of the disciples," said Downey. "They scattered when He was murdered, they're heartbroken, they're afraid. In those few days, they wait to see if He will come back or not. In that time in Jerusalem, there's so much going on."

The film is now available exclusively on the Discovery Plus streaming platform.
