Reverend Franklin Graham praised the Alabama Senate in a Facebook post last week for voting to outlaw puberty-blockers, hormone therapy, and sex-change surgery for children under 18.
The Alabama Senate voted 23-4 last week to outlaw the use of such therapies for minors, making it a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
"Only Democrats voted against this legislation to protect children," Graham said. "As one state senator said, 'Children aren't mature enough to make these decisions on surgeries and drugs.'"
The bill is now being reviewed by the Alabama House.
