Talk radio host Rush Limbaugh spoke candidly to his audience on Tuesday, offering another update on his lung cancer battle. The top-rated talker said that he thanks God every day he wakes up because "every day remains a gift."
"There will probably be, down the road, similar-type days where I will need take a day for rest or for whatever medical challenges present themselves," Limbaugh said. "But the fact that I'm able to get back here and be with you is a genuine blessing, and I appreciate it, and I appreciate your understanding throughout all of this. As we say, everything's day-to-day, and especially in the circumstances I find myself in."
It has been 10 months since Limbaugh announced to his national audience that he had been diagnosed with advanced-stage lung cancer on February 3. In October, the popular conservative gave an update, telling listeners that his most recent scans showed "some progression of cancer."
Limbaugh said at the time that it was "tough" realizing that he is living under a death sentence.
