The United States Secretary of State said this week that the recent airstrike on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia was an “act of war” by the Iranian government.

Claiming that the airstrike had “the fingerprints of the Ayatollah” on it, Mike Pompeo said the strike had endangered the world’s oil supply.

Iran has denied responsibility for the strikes and has vowed to retaliate against the U.S. if Iran’s capital, Tehran, is bombed in response to the Saudi incident.

Saudi officials have not come out and said that the attack was launched by the Iranian government, though the have asserted that the missiles came “from the north,” which is the direction in which Iran lays.
