Democratic Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) snapped back at left-wing media critiques of her opposition to including a $15 an hour minimum wage hike as part of the COVID-19 stimulus bill recently passed by the Senate.
Sinema joined seven other Democratic senators and all the Republicans in opposition to including the hike, explaining that while she believed the minimum wage should be raised, it should be done apart from a bill designed to address pandemic issues.
Progressive activists criticized the outspoken Arizona lawmaker not only for the substance of her vote, but for the way she made it, the attire she wore and purse she carried while doing so, and even the food she brought into the chamber.
Sinema's spokeswoman, Hannah Hurley, blasted the criticism which had been amplified by left-wing media sources like the Huffington Post.
"Commentary about a female senator's body language, clothing, or physical demeanor does not belong in a serious media outlet," Hurley scolded HuffPost.
