Bar-goers and diners in Italy may soon find themselves drinking out of straws made not from plastic but from pasta.

A London-based company called Stroodles is manufacturing the products, also called stroodles, in order to be more environmentally conscious. The corporation advises consumers to avoid using the straws in hot drinks.

The Stroodles website says the products are “high performers and will stay strong and firm for well over an hour in various types of cold drinks.” The company also suggests that consumers can simply break the pasta straws down to the desired size when drinking out of different glasses.
