South Dakota authorities say the pedestrian whom state Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg hit in a fatal vehicle accident last year left his broken glasses inside the AG's car.
South Dakota's Department of Public Safety released footage Tuesday that shows Ravnsborg, 44, being interviewed by investigators and confronted about the eyeglasses. Ravnsborg reported after the accident that he had hit a deer with his Ford Taurus. Last week, the state criminally charged Ravnsborg in the death of 55-year-old Joseph Boever. Charges include operating a motor vehicle while using a mobile device, veering out of his lane, and three counts of careless driving.
Despite the information about the glasses, the AG maintains that he believed he hit a deer.
