The U.S. stock market extended its losses on Friday, rebounding significantly from lows but still ending the trading session in the red to cap the worst trading week since the 2008 financial crisis as panic over the coronavirus gripped the exchanges.

Here is where the indexes ended the day:

  • S&P 500: 2,954.14, off -24.62 or -0.83%
  • Dow: 25,409.36, off -357.28 or -1.39%
  • Nasdaq : 8,567.37, up 0.89, or flat

The Dow recovered from an intraday loss of 1,000 points as stocks rallied into the close.

For the week, all three indexes fell more than 10%. The S&P 500 has cratered from an all-time high into correction territory in just the last six sessions.
