Streaming now makes up nearly 20 percent of television consumption, almost doubling since 2018, according to a report from Nielsen.

Netflix holds 31 percent of streaming time, followed by YouTube at 21 percent, Hulu at 12 percent, and Amazon Prime at eight percent.

Although consumers ages 18-34 are most likely to subscribe to several streaming services and spend most of their TV time streaming, 87 percent of adults 65 years or older also subscribe to at least one streaming service.

🔦 More than 646,000 shows were available in the U.S. across linear and streaming services last year, up 10 percent from 2018.
