One of the top tennis players in the world recently gave up her American citizenship so that she would be able to represent another country in the 2020 Olympics.

Naomi Osaka, who is the third-ranked tennis player in the world, previously held dual American and Japanese citizenship. Japanese law mandates that anyone holding two citizenships must give one up by the time they are 22.

Osaka was born in Japan but came to the U.S. when she was three-years-old. She already represents Japan in several tennis tournaments.
