The state of Texas will be investigating a mother’s intentions of transitioning her seven-year-old son into a girl.

The mother, Anne Georgulas, recently won a court battle against the boy’s father, Jeffrey Younger, who argued against transitioning the child so early. The court ruled in the mother’s favor, paving the way for possible chemical and surgical alterations for the boy.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott tweeted on Wednesday that the issue “is being looked into by the Texas Attorney General’s Office and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.”
