President Trump currently holds a higher approval rating than Barack Obama did at the same time during the latter's presidency, although both clocked a similar disapproval rating at the same point in their terms, according to new Gallup poll results.
Trump's approval currently stands at 43 percent, two percentage points higher than Obama's near the end of his third year in office. Both presidents had around 50 percent disapproval ratings at the same point in their terms.
Trump's approval jumped noticeably since the beginning of the impeachment process against him, while public approval for his economic performance rose even more sharply. A full 91 percent of Republicans currently approve of the president's performance.
