Legendary golfer Tiger Woods won his 82nd Professional Golfers Association title on Monday, tying Sam Snead for the most PGA competitions won by one player in golfing history.
Woods clinched the win in Chiba, Japan, at the Zozo Championship, beating the country’s favorite Hideki Matsuyama by three strokes. This was the first time a PGA Tour event was played in Japan.
Thanking his mother and father after the historic clincher, Woods tweeted it was an “honor” to win the award, and that he would “never forget” competing in Japan.
