Rashida Tlaib, Michigan representative and member of the "Squad," blamed "white supremacy" Thursday for a mass shooting in Jersey City which was carried out by two black assailants. The shooters, at least one of whom had ties to racist and anti-Semitic Black Hebrew Israelite cult, targeted a kosher deli, killing four before being killed themselves.
Tlaib shared a tweet of remembrance for victims of the attack, and added her comments, "This is heartbreaking. White supremacy kills."
After many Twitter users pointed out to her that the Jersey City killers were both black individuals, Tlaib deleted the tweet. She did not, however, offer any sort of correction, nor did she condemn the attack after finding out the race of the shooters.
