Allies of President Trump are attempting to acquire conservative news outlet One America News Network in a bid to compete against Fox News, the Wall Street Journal reports, citing people familiar with the matter.

According to the Journal:

The investment firm Hicks Equity Partners is looking to acquire the channel and is pitching other wealthy GOP donors to arrange a bid of roughly $250 million for the channel's parent company, the people said. The firm is owned by the family of Thomas Hicks Jr., co-chairman of the Republican National Committee and a close friend of Donald Trump Jr.

🔦 The news comes as Trump has been publicly feuding with Fox News from time to time over what he sees as unfair coverage or disloyalty. Fox News posted its highest ratings ever in 2019, averaging 2.5 million viewers per night.
