Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien tested positive for coronavirus on Friday. One senior campaign official described Stepien as having "mild flu-like symptoms."
Stepien plans to quarantine until he recovers, and will work remotely for the campaign. Deputy campaign manager Justin Clark, who recently tested negative for the virus, is expected to oversee operations from Arlington, Virginia.
Stepien sent a memo to campaign staff on Friday saying that anyone "who has had exposure to someone testing positive should immediately begin self-quarantine."
"While we do not believe anyone without symptoms needs to self-quarantine at this time, it is on all of us to continue to exercise the smart judgment and practices the campaign has long encouraged," Stepien said.
