A new national poll shows presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden with a smaller lead over President Trump than previous surveys.

A CNN poll conducted between August 12 and 15 showed Biden's ticket, which includes Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) as his running mate, tops the Trump and Vice President Mike Pence ticket 50% to 46% among registered voters.

The poll's margin of error is plus or minus four percentage points.

An ABC News/Washington Post poll released just hours later showed Biden holding a lead over the president at 53% to 41% among registered voters and 54% to 44% among likely voters.

That poll's margin of error is plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

An average of all the latest national general election matchup poll shows Biden topping Trump by 7.5 points, according to Real Clear Politics.
