Trump tweets support of schools opening in the fall, threatens to pull funding if they stay closed

President Trump on Friday tweeted his support of schools reopening in the fall, bashing the virtual learning many schools have switched to during the pandemic.

Trump also threatened to pull federal funding from schools that do not open, questioning "why would the federal government give funding" to closed schools.

? As colleges continue to announce a shift to online learning for the upcoming school year, public schools are still questioning whether they will reopen in the fall, with policies varying on a state-by-state basis. Schools originally began closing in March.
