Pro-life group Operation Rescue has named President Trump its Person of the Year Malachi Award recipient for 2020.
The award goes to "individuals who sacrificially work to advance the cause of protecting the pre-born," according to a statement from the organization. Trump also received the award in 2017.
Operation Rescue's Tuesday announcement of cited Trump's appointment of pro-life judges (including three U.S. Supreme Court justices), his administration's decision to withhold $200 million per quarter in Medicaid funding from the state of California for its federally illegal practice requiring all health insurance plans to provide abortion coverage, his creation of the Pro-Life Rule that bars Title X family planning grants from funding abortion doctors, his work to change pro-abortion policies at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and his withdrawal of the United States from the World Health Organization, which is a major promoter and funder of abortions worldwide
"President Trump has done more to build a Culture of Life in the U.S. than all previous presidents combined," said Troy Newman, Operation Rescue's president. "It is my honor to acknowledge these accomplishments and relay my deep gratitude to him for keeping and exceeding all his promises when it comes to the matter of abortion. He is a worthy recipient of the 2020 Person of the Year Malachi Award."
