President Trump has publicly responded to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's speech where he congratulated Joe Biden on as the presidential election winner.

"Mitch, 75,000,000 VOTES, a record for a sitting President (by a lot). Too soon to give up. Republican Party must finally learn to fight. People are angry!" said Trump in a tweet Wednesday morning.

McConnell has asked his Republican colleagues to not contest the election results on January 6, when a joint session of Congress is set to formally accept the Electoral College count.

McConnell's speech follows weeks of pleas from Senate Democrats to recognize Biden's victory. He spent the majority of his speech praising the current president and his administration's accomplishments.
