President Trump revealed on Tuesday that the next G7 retreat will be hosted at Camp David, the storied presidential hideaway located in northwestern Maryland.

The announcement, made by Trump while at a NATO summit in London, is a reversal from the previously announced retreat location of Trump National Doral, one of the president's properties near Miami.

The president faced bipartisan pushback for the plan to host the retreat at one of his resorts, with critics claiming that he was seeking to personally profit by hosting the government meeting at a Trump-owned location.

🔦 Camp David was initially built as a resort for federal workers before being converted to a presidential refuge by Franklin Roosevelt.
