Suggesting that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was "only interested in bailing out badly-run, crime-ridden Democrat cities and states," President Trump said Tuesday that a coronavirus relief package would not happen until after Election Day.

The president said that though he would be willing to negotiate with Pelosi after the election, he also anticipates that Republicans will take back the House of Representatives because of Democrat stonewalling relief bills.

"After the election, we will get the best stimulus package you have ever seen," Trump said. "I think we are going to take back the House because of her."

Despite the president's optimistic projections, most experts predict that scenario is highly unlikely and that Democrats will actually expand their majority control in the House this cycle.

Still, White House communications director Alyssa Farah said that a relief package could be voted on in Congress "within weeks."
