President Trump at the White House on Monday said that he believes it's "very safe" to attend his rallies, as fears over the coronavirus continue to mount and as several other countries have banned large gatherings from taking place.
"You could ask that to the Democrats because they're having a lot of rallies," Trump said when asked about the safety of rallies.
The president has a rally scheduled for late Monday in Charleston, South Carolina.
? Countries have been scrambling to limit the spread of coronavirus by clamping down on public gatherings. China in January banned all Chinese New Year celebrations as the disease spread rapidly throughout that country. Japan last week announced it was closing all schools to head off the disease. Switzerland, meanwhile, banned all major public events in an effort to stop the spread of the illness.
