President Trump announced on Twitter Wednesday morning that he would be hosting a press conference at 6 p.m. that evening regarding the coronavirus outbreak currently sweeping the globe that has already claimed thousands of lives.
Trump made the announcement after slamming what he called "fake news" media, accusing them of "doing everything possible to make the Caronavirus [sic] look as bad as possible." The president countered the United States was in "great shape."
🔦 The disease has infected more than 80,000 people in over 40 countries, resulting in around 2,700 deaths. All but a fraction of those infections and deaths have occurred in mainland China.
