President Trump delivered stern warnings to Iran on Monday and Tuesday based on reports the country plans to assassinate U.S. ambassador to South Africa Lana Marks in retaliation for the death of Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
A January U.S. drone strike killed Soleimani, a top terror leader who was deemed responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American troops and reportedly was planning other attacks against American targets.
Trump echoed his warning during a phone call Tuesday morning with the news show "Fox & Friends."
"We're all set," he said about America's ability to respond to an Iranian attack. "They'll be hit a thousand times harder."
Recent reports have shown that information about a possible attack on Marks has become more detailed, which may indicate an attack is imminent. U.S. intelligence officials say Iran also is considering assassination attempts against other American officials.
