President Trump will host the Washington Nationals at the White House on Monday, several days after the team’s October 30 World Series win, the first in the franchise’s history.

The development was announced on Twitter by White House Deputy Press Secretary Judd Deere on Friday morning.

The Nationals won their first World Series 4-3 against the Houston Astros, a team that won its first World Series only two years ago. This was the first time a Washington team had been to the World Series since 1933.
