Online streaming platform Twitch has been facing heat from the transgender community after using the term "womxn" in a Twitter post about Women's History Month.

"Join us in celebrating and supporting all the Womxn creating their own worlds, building their communities and leading the way on Twitch," the Monday post read.

Critics of the tweet say "womxn" is used by "trans exclusionary radical feminists" who do not include as women biological men who identify as women.

The platform has since apologized and removed the offending tweet, although some social media users have still been circulating it.
