Iran's state television has reported that 10 total people were killed in a U.S. airstrike Friday morning at Baghdad International Airport, and that five of them were high-ranking members of the Iran's Revolutionary Guard — a U.S.-designated terrorist organization — the Associated Press reports.

In addition to Gen. Qassem Soleimani — Iran's top military general — the strike also ended the lives of another general, a colonel, a major, and a captain with the guard.

? Since Friday morning's significant attack, which was in retaliation for Iran-backed militias killing an American contractor and attacking the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iran's supreme leader vowed "severe revenge," while the U.S. State Department called on all American citizens to leave Iraq at once.
