U.S. coronavirus deaths more than double in 2 days to surpass 2,200

Deaths from COVID-19 in the United States have more than doubled in two days as of Saturday night, surpassing 2,200 as the nation tries to get a handle on the pandemic.

New York City alone logged 222 deaths in the past 24 hours.

? President Trump, after saying Saturday morning that he was considering a federal quarantine order on New York, New Jersey, and parts of Connecticut, announced later that it "will not be necessary," instead issuing a "strong travel advisory."
