A new video shows the moment a surface-to-air missile struck a Boeing 737 passenger jet operated by Ukraine International Airlines shortly after takeoff from Tehran Wednesday morning, causing the crash that killed all 176 on board:

The New York Times has verified the authenticity of the new video.

Previously released video had shown the burning aircraft falling from the sky, crashing into the ground, and exploding:

🔦 U.S. officials said Thursday that the airliner, which crashed just hours after Iran launched missile attacks against U.S. forces in Iraq, was shot down by Iranian missiles, likely after Tehran mistakenly identified the commercial plane as a threat.

The 176 victims of the disaster include 82 Iranians, 63 Canadians, 11 Ukrainians, 10 Swedes, four Afghans, three Germans, and three British nationals.
