The U.S. Surgeon General released a video on Friday explaining how Americans can manufacture their own face masks, a sign of the government's increasing push to have Americans — particularly those in areas heavily affected by the coronavirus — wear masks in public.
Dr. Jerome Adams hosts the short video in which he explains how to make a mask using a shirt and a couple of rubber bands.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last week recommended Americans begin wearing masks in public. In February, the organization released a guide to appropriate facial hair styles when wearing protective masks.
