NASA's Perseverance Mars Rover landed on the surface of the Red Planet on Thursday. The initial sets of images sent back were fascinating, but subsequent transmissions are expected to provide a look into another world that has never been seen – or heard – before.

Take just a moment to see in full color, the surface of the mysterious planet Mars as recorded by previous rover Curiosity.

Apollo 11 astronaut Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin famously remarked when looking over the surface of the moon that it was, "magnificent desolation." Those words will certainly find renewed meaning through Perseverance's video lens.
