In a tweet late Saturday night, President Trump warned Iran not to strike back against America, saying that "we will hit them harder than they have ever been hit before" if they do.
Trump was adding on to comments from Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), who said Trump's move was a "basic truth of foreign policy."
The president also noted that the U.S. has "just spent two trillion dollars on military equipment."
"If Iran attacks an American base, or any American, we will be sending some of that brand new beautiful equipment their way...and without hesitation," he tweeted.
? Iran officials have said that the country's response to the United States will "for sure be military."
