Wendy's, the restaurant chain known for popularizing the fresh-never-frozen style of fast-food burgers, is reportedly suffering a beef shortage due to the ongoing coronavirus-linked slaughterhouse shutdowns across the country.
Around 1,000 Wendy's are currently not serving any hamburgers or other meat-based items.
Multiple American processing facilities have closed down in recent weeks due to coronavirus outbreaks. Experts have warned that the shutdowns will likely result in some meat shortages for the time being.
The restaurant chain is pushing its chicken products during the shortage. Chicken sandwiches and nuggets make up a sizable portion of the restaurant's menu.
