Twitter locked the account of a White House press secretary on Wednesday, suspending the personal account of Kayleigh McEnany after she shared a story from the New York Post.
The Post story claims to provide evidence that Hunter Biden introduced his father, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, to an executive at Burisma Holdings about a year before then-Vice President Biden pushed Ukrainian officials to fire the prosecutor who was investigating the company.
Twitter responded quickly to silence the story, preventing it from being disseminated or shared by users, and in the case of McEnany, locking the accounts of those who tried to.
Additionally, it appears that Twitter may have proceeded to delete McEnany's offending tweet for her.
🔦 Twitter has joined Facebook in aggressively quashing the story that implicates the Democratic nominee in a scandal. Their moves have led to outrage from Republicans, who accuse the media giants of election interference.
