With 24 entries, Netflix tops the list of Oscar-nominated studios

Netflix is dominating the Academy Awards this year, with the movie company receiving a total of 24 Oscar nominations, more than any other studio.

"The Irishman," the mafia movie depicting the story of mob hitman Frank Sheeran, received 10 nominations, including a Best Director nod for Martin Scorsese and dueling Best Actor submissions for Al Pacino and Joe Pesci.

"Marriage Story," a drama chronicling a couple's bitter divorce in modern Los Angeles, was nominated for six awards, including Best Picture.

The most-celebrated movie of the year is "The Joker," which has been nominated for 11 total awards.
