Gary Larson, the famed creator of the "Far Side" comic strip, announced on Tuesday that he would be producing new comics for the first time in more than two decades.
Larson, who originally drew the strip from 1980 to 1995, in September welcomed his fans to his online home. He expressed excitement over the possibilities offered by the internet, which had been in its infancy when he retired in 1995. This week, his website announced upcoming new comics slated to appear next year.
"[B]eginning in 2020, and commemorating the 40th anniversary of The Far Side, we will periodically unveil new work by the man himself!" an announcement on the page reads.
The website also offers comics collections and Far Side merchandise.
