A woman riding in a truck was injured by a .22-caliber bullet when a dog jumped on the handgun, causing it to discharge, according to authorities.

Police in Enid, Oklahoma, say the woman was riding in the passenger seat of the car when the dog, named Molly, jumped into the front seat from the back. Molly’s paw landed on the handgun resting on the center console, firing a bullet into the woman’s leg.

The driver of the truck reportedly has dementia. Police stressed the importance of properly securing firearms during transportation.
